Wonderful Wildwood, New Jersey

The Jersey Shore has to go some of the most crowded tourist resorts. However, a popular resort, the Wild Woods is truly always something going on, and it's worth the trip despite the crowds.

Much of this venerable beach community took in the 1950s with the opening of the Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City Expressway. Many of the hotels still adorns the area still remember that look of the fifties: the tail fins, big hair, Elvis, and more. Old hotel with a bitStickiness to be sure, but still a fun place to check out.

The boardwalk is a walk two miles with all kinds of shops selling saltwater taffy, t-laced shirts, jewelry, games, rides, junk food, you name it. If you do not like to walk, the tram cars take to the end or at any point in between. Soon you will hear the familiar "see trams" recording that the cars and everything you need to do is a flag off, jump on and off you go.

The beach is free fromthe ways. And it is very wide especially by NJ standards. Most people know the Jersey Shore know that many beaches are thin. This beach is the sand added to surf it all the time and of course compliant with tidal waters, it is at least 1 / 4 miles of beach promenade [at low tide, that is].

Wildwood now offers a conference center built on the beach and new journeys rises from its piers. Historic Cape May, home to more than 600 Victorian houses, just four milesto visit the south and a great place if you tire of the beach promenade scene. Atlantic City is an hour north side and is a frequent destination, especially on rainy days. Alternatively, you can flee to the County Zoo for the day in the city of Cape May Court House.

The best time to go the Wild Woods is in July and August when the water temperature may be too cold before that time. However, most of the hotels heated outdoor pools, which do you prefer, have to be able to saltWater.

The resort is changing as are many old buildings demolished and replaced by condos. Preservationists are trying to maintain friendly atmosphere about the place, so it remains to be seen what will be the infrastructure of the future. In the meantime, grab a towel and your sunscreen and head on wonderful, Wildwood, NJ!
